The Interior Features of the 2017 Honda Pilot Leave Little to Be Desired
Interior Dimensions, Seating, and Comfort
The 2017 Honda Pilot has been designed to seat eight passengers, and each one of these seating positions is just as comfortable as the next! Headroom varies slightly depending on which trim level and roof type you select, but legroom, shoulder room, and hip room remain constant across all models. First-row passengers will enjoy 40.9 inches of legroom, while second- and third-row passengers can stretch out in 38.4 inches and 31.9 inches, respectively. Shoulder room in the Pilot is 62.0 inches in the front row, 62.0 inches in the middle row, and 57.6 inches in the rear row. Front, middle, and rear hip room are 59.1 inches, 57.3 inches, and 44.6 inches, respectively. In total, the Pilot offers 152.9 cubic feet of passenger volume. Equipping a moonroof decreases total volume to 151.7 cubic feet, but upgrading even further with a panoramic roof will bring your total size to 153.1 cubic feet!
Adjustable front seat-belt anchors and head restraints for all seating positions come standard in every 2017 Pilot trim, but the Pilot offers even more comfort features to those who decide to upgrade. The EX trim equips the Pilot’s driver’s seat with a 10-way power-adjustment function, and it even includes tri-zone automatic climate control. In the EX-L trim and above, this SUV’s suite of features also includes a four-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, one-touch second-row seats, heated front seats, and a leather-trimmed interior! The Pilot’s Touring trim takes customizable comfort to the next level by including a two-position memory function on your driver’s seat. Those who want to treat their passengers to the very best are encouraged to select the top-of-the-line Elite trim, which replaces the heated front seats with perforated, heated, ventilated front seats, complete with six different temperature settings. This trim also replaces the Pilot’s standard second-row seats with perforated and heated captain’s chairs.
Interior Technology Features in the Pilot
The Pilot’s expansive storage bay and seating space aren’t the only qualities that give it an edge over competing models in its segment. Drivers everywhere are learning to appreciate the incredible array of interior technology features
that come standard, or are available as upgrades, for the 2017 Pilot. The Pilot’s LX trim comes equipped with a 5-inch LCD color screen, and every other trim offers a more customizable 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen. What’s more, the Pilot makes it easy to keep a full charge on all your electronic devices. Depending on which trim level they choose, drivers and passengers will also be able to access up to five USB ports and as many as three 12-volt power outlets. Some of the Pilot’s most impressive technology features, however, are only available in its EX-L trim or above. These features—the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System and a built-in rear entertainment system—are sure to please even the most impatient riders. The entertainment system includes a Blu-ray player, an HDMI interface, and a 115-volt power outlet that’s ideal for gaming consoles and laptops.
